A cross-sectional analysis of the histopathologic structure of thyroid patients undergoing thyroid surgery

Major health issues in the contemporary world, thyroid illnesses are distinguished by changes hormone output, gland hypertrophy, or both. The purpose of this study was to identify histological patterns people who had surgery. At Kathmandu University Hospital, a retrospective conducted over two-year period, from January 10, 2021, December 30, 2022. This includes all 300 patients underwent gender, age, residency, outcome fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), and post-operative were taken into account. Patients FNA exclusively ineligible. Participants' average ages ranged 35.06 ± 15.19 years. Thyroid disorders more frequently found females (90%) than males ( 10%). Nodular colloid goitre (65.1%), adenoma (5.8%), papillary neoplasms (25.4%), follicular carcinoma (6.8%), medullary (8.5%), thyroiditis (9.3%), anaplastic cancer (3.9%) histopathologic patterns. With prevalence 64 (23.1%), most prevalent type. combined accuracy final histology FNAB 90.04%. However, 50% preoperative diagnoses made insufficiently accurate.
